Edward Cheng : Vice President of Tencent, Chief Executive Officer of Tencent Pictures
Edward Cheng joined Tencent in 2009 and has been responsible for overseeing strategy, marketing, channels and pan-entertainment for the Tencent Interactive Entertainment Group (IEG). Since 2011, the “Pan-Entertainment Strategy” that he initiated and implemented has become one of the foundational development strategies of IEG and the entire company. Since 2014, Edward has also been in charge of branding, marketing and public relations of Tencent.
Edward graduated from the Tsinghua University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. He also gained an M.B.A. from the Olin School of Business at Washington University.

Edward Cheng, Vice-Président de Tencent, CEO de Tencent Pictures. Edward Cheng a rejoint Tencent en 2009 et a été responsable de la stratégie de supervision, du marketing, des chaines et du “pan entertainement” pour le groupe Tencent Interactive Entertainment Group (IEG). Depuis 2011, la stratégie “pan entertainement” qu’il a initiée et mise en place est devenue une des strategies de base du développement d’IEG et de l’entièreté de la société. Depuis 2014, Edward est aussi en charge du branding, du marketing et des relations publiques de Tencent. Edward est titulaire d’une Licence en Physique de l’Université de Tsinghua et d’un M.B.A de la Olin School of Business de la Washington University.
Il est généralement admis que les Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication (TIC) ont permis de réduire le temps et l’espace, de donner des facultés aux utilisateurs et de gommer les frontiers entre producteurs professionnels et utilisateurs amateurs, et ont donc inauguré une nouvelle ère de co-production culturelle, ramenant à la vie et au premier plan la tradition millénaire de co-création; Tencent, en tant que société d’internet avec plus de 900 millions d’utilisateurs, s’engage à créer un futur qui adopte et célèbre la diversité, qui protège l’héritage et nourrit la culture émergente, qui génère et partage un nouveau savoir.
